This past summer, I had the privilege of working with Dr. Ibarra at UC Irvine's Biorobotics Laboratory. Our research was focused on Apple Watches, but get this: no human participants. We wanted to perfectly measure how inaccurate the step count was, and in the process developed a *robotic* method to test apple watches without human volunteers. Our project laid the groundwork for advancements in product testing, and we hope to publish our findings in IEEE during the Spring of 2026.

My Background.
I’m a high school senior based in Brea, California. My mother, who immigrated from the Philippines, is an accounts-receivable (AR) analyst. I gained a love for history from my Kuya (older brother in Tagalog), who majored in the subject. Together, my family has shaped my unique perspective on the world–one where data and storytelling intertwine.
Outside The Data.
Aside from tinkering with large language models (LLMs) and pushing my desktop PC to its limits, I'm super into learning about Filipino culture. I enjoy reading about Filipino Folklore and am a regular lifter at 24 Hour Fitness.
Academics.
In the classroom, my favorite subject is math. The highest level course I’ve taken is AP Calculus BC (~Calculus 2) and I’m excited to explore higher level concepts such as linear algebra and multivariable calculus. In terms of stats, I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA, a 4.8 weighted GPA, a 1520 SAT, and “5s” on all 7 of my AP exams.
Experience.
Outside the classroom, I’ve deepened my passion for math with two-dimensional barcode scanners, programming robots, researching synthetic data, and getting certified in data analytics by IBM and Google. In Layman's terms, I'm a Philomath.
